The Wonderfeet Kids Museum Board of Directors is seeking an individual with a passion for children, families and learning, to launch our newly expanded museum into a future with expanded growth and opportunity for our community. The Executive Director (ED) plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Wonderfeet Kids Museum and is responsible for guiding the daily operations of the museum and working with the board of directors to ensure consistency with our mission, values, and goals.
The ED will be expected to lead a dynamic team, oversee strategic planning, and champion a mission to foster curiosity and exploration, inspire creativity, and ignite the imagination of every child through play. The ED will need to fully understand the museum's operations from the bottom up, often working the museum floor, programming, managing the resolution of operational issues at all levels, including filling staffing gaps.
The ED is expected to promote the museum through community outreach acting as a resource and extending our goals of collaborating with community members to build a more vibrant future for our children and families. The ED is responsible for all aspects of fundraising, including Board of Directors in campaign efforts, researching and submitting grants, and creating beneficial partnerships with organizations and individuals that will symbiotically assist in the growth of the WKM and to grow the museum in the future. This role truly involves inspirational leadership in attracting, engaging, training, retaining, empowering, and supporting Wonderfeet’s staff, board, and volunteers while creating a positive, safe and inclusive working environment.
Guest Services Supervisor (2 Openings)
Reports to: Guest Services Coordinator, Museum Director
Employment Classification: Part Time, Hourly
Schedule: 20-25 hours per week, weekend availability required, some weekday availability required.
Compensation and Benefits: $16-18/hour, with paid holidays.
Job Summary
We are seeking two motivated and experienced individuals to join our team as Part-Time Guest Services Supervisors (GSS-A and GSS-B). This is a fantastic leadership opportunity to manage our Front Desk operations and ensure a positive, seamless experience for every museum guest, member, and visitor.
We are hiring for two distinct four-day schedules:
GSS-A (Start-of-the-Week Focus): Sunday through Wednesday
GSS-B (End-of-the-Week Focus): Wednesday through Saturday
Responsibilities
Manage the work of the Front Desk, including opening, closing, and visitor check-in during scheduled shifts
(Sunday to Wednesday OR Wednesday to Saturday).
Lead and manage the daily team, including staff and volunteers.
Model and train staff and volunteers in exceptional customer service practices.
Answer visitor questions and address any concerns.
Coordinate operational hand-offs and scheduling needs with Guest Services Supervisor B.
Manage and implement any incident or emergency protocol, including documentation.
Ensure the museum, including exhibits, the front lobby, and restrooms, are reset and sanitized at closing.
Assist with set-up and operation of public programs and community events on scheduled days.
Contribute creatively to team planning within the Museum.
Other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with point-of-sale software programs.
Experience working on a team and managing staff.
Experience working with children, especially preschool age, and a commitment to children's learning through play.
Strong interpersonal skills: helpful, calm, and friendly demeanor.
Positive work ethic, professional attitude, and willingness to learn.
Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks.
Ability to adapt to different and changing environments (large crowds/small crowds).
Flexibility when solving problems and coordinating schedules.
Accurate keyboarding, data entry, cash register, and cash handling skills.
Good safety awareness and judgment, and the ability to assist visitors in emergent situations.
Ability to go up and down stairs, occasional sustained periods of prolonged standing, and infrequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus.
